Technical Name Generative AI Spectral Intelligence Platform: Enabling Low-Cost Cross-Domain Non-Destructive Inspection with RGB Imaging
Project Operator National Chung Hsing University
Project Host 朱彥煒
Summary
The Generative AI Spectral Intelligence Platform converts RGB images into high-dimensional spectral representations, reducing the cost, complexity and deployment barriers of hyperspectral/multispectral inspection. It supports low-cost, scalable and non-destructive state assessment for agriculture, medicine, food, materials, industry and remote sensing, bringing spectral sensing from specialized instruments to field, production-line and large-area applications.
Scientific Breakthrough
This technology turns the ill-posed RGB-to-spectral problem into a deployable AI spectral service. It integrates field standardization, cross-camera calibration, ROI control, CNN/RGB encoding, multiband attention and U-Net fusion, extending spectral generation into task-oriented assessment. It reduces RMSE by 45.6% and improves PSNR by 27.40 dB versus MST++, and achieves 94% accuracy in rice water-status assessment, enabling cloud API deployment across real-world fields and industries.
Industrial Applicability
The platform has completed commercial validation in rice contract farming, crop water-status assessment and AI Low-Carbon Rice, with 273 hectares of use. It can extend to medical edema screening, food quality inspection, materials and industrial defect detection, and satellite/UAV remote sensing. Bringing low-cost spectral assessment into field, production-line, high-frequency, large-area and non-destructive scenarios, it improves monitoring coverage, adoption feasibility and market scalability.
