Summary
This product is a non-invasive transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulator (taVNS) that incorporates electrical neuromodulation technique. The working mechanism is that the taVNS, through the electrodes attached at the choncha and tragus, electrically stimulates the afferent branch of vagus nerve and, therefore, increases the parasympathetic tone to solve a long-standing and annoying clinical problem, the postoperative ileus.
Scientific Breakthrough
This product, having a high safety profile and being non-invasive, commands special parameters and control of electrical neuromodulation to effectively solve a long-standing clinical problem, postoperative ileus. The effectiveness is demonstrated by a reduced ileus time, accelerated initiation of food-taking, and decreased admission days.
Industrial Applicability
Our technique, taVNS, targets postoperative ileus. It facilitates gastrointestinal motility and reduces the ileus recovery time and the days of hospitalization. Compared to the current therapy, mainly supportive, our technique has definite clinical benefits and reduces overall care costs.
