The aim of this study was to develop of high safety, high performance sulfide-based all-solid-state Li-ion battery (ASSLIB). The ASSLIB composes of a flexible, high ionic conductive,moisture insensitive sulfide-based solid-state electrolyte (SSE) film, Si/C composite anode material with self-healing polymer binder, high capacity LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NMC811) composite cathode,garnet-in-polymer solid composite interlayer to prevent decomposition of sulfide-based SSE with electrode materials.
Scientific Breakthrough
In this study, the first synthesis platformassembly line of sulfide-based ASSLIB in Taiwan had been constructed. With the synthesis platformbattery assembly line, the high safety, high-performance ASSLIB demonstrates energy density of 273 Wh/kg is fabricated. In this new type of sulfide-based ASSLIB, several components are integrated within the cell, including high ion conductivitymoisture insensitive sulfide-based SSE, NMC composite cathode, self-healing Si/C composite anode,ultra-stable garnet-in-polymer solid interlayer.
Industrial Applicability
The developed techniques can be enhanced the development of the domestic all-solid-state lithium battery industry to enhance its international competitiveness. The development of the high safetyhigh energy density all-solid-state Li battery can improve the safetyrelease the range anxiety of EVselectric motorbikes,thus promote the development of related industriesreduce emission.
