Summary
Trim-TAC is a novel biological type of target protein degradation technology that comprises a target-recognition domain (TRD) and a target degradation signal (TDS). We have developed 11 distinct TDS types, enabling various degradation mechanisms for target proteins, whether alone or in large complexes, with no cell type or receptor restrictions. Trim-TAC can also degrade large protein complexes, illuminating a new biological drug with broad biomedical applications.
Scientific Breakthrough
Conventional target protein degradation drugs can only degrade target proteins through proteasomal degradation. We have developed 11 target degradation signals that can guide target degradation through different intracellular pathways. This design offers flexible options for TPD drug development and can be expanded into multi-valent biologicals. In addition, Trim-TAC can be applied to degrade large protein complex, making it a groundbreaking technology for target protein degradation.
Industrial Applicability
Trim-TAC is a brand-new precision protein degradation technology. The degradation signal developed by the team can combine with any known antibodies, nanobodies, specific peptides, and ligands. Trim-TAC technology can be applied to new drug development industry, especially for modulating antibody drugs. Additionally, Trim-TAC can be co-developed with nucleic acid drug companies to commercialize Trim-TAC in the form of nucleic acid drugs.
