| Summary |
This technology upgrades OLV from "blind insertion and repeated bronchoscopic confirmation" to a "visualized, guided, and monitorable" smart lung isolation system. Through the integration of flexible catheters, movable guidance structures, miniature CMOS imaging, and displacement warnings, physicians can instantly confirm position of the cuff and quickly correct deviations, reducing surgical interruptions and airway risks, and establishing a new generation of smart airway management technology. |
| Scientific Breakthrough |
This technology integrates 60° bidirectional steerable guidance, distal miniature CMOS/LED real-time imaging, balloon occlusion, and a 0.5-cm displacement alert into a single smart lung isolation catheter. It transforms conventional one-lung ventilation, which relies on repeated bronchoscopic confirmation, into a steerable, visualized, and continuously monitored airway management platform. |
| Industrial Applicability |
This technology targets OLV pain points in thoracic surgery by integrating a disposable smart catheter, real-time imaging, and displacement alerts. It may reduce repeated bronchoscope intervention and surgical interruption while improving anesthesia safety and OR efficiency. The platform can expand to pediatric airway devices, AI image interpretation, and smart ICU monitoring, supporting spin-off creation, international licensing, and precision health commercialization. |
