Technical Name METHOD AND KIT FOR IDENTIFYING DRUG-RESISTANT FUNGAL PATHOGEN
Project Operator National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology
Project Host 羅秀容
Summary
A method for identifying a drug-resistant fungal pathogen. The method includes: detecting a single nucleotide polymorphism genotype on XYR1 gene and SNQ2 gene of a fungal pathogen. Further provided is a kit for identifying drug-resistant fungal pathogen.
Scientific Breakthrough
This study developed two different detection methods: one combines multiplex PCR and MinION sequencing to achieve rapid, high-throughput, and automated detection; the other utilizes two marker genes to provide a convenient and accurate approach for the rapid identification of Clade 4 drug-resistant genotypes of Candida tropicalis.
Industrial Applicability
This technology offers two rapid, convenient, and accurate methods for detecting Clade 4 drug-resistant genotypes of Candida tropicalis. One method is suitable for large-scale surveillance with scalability to include additional target genes, while the other is useful for point-of-care applications in hospitals, clinics, or diagnostic laboratories.
