Technical Name Quick charging of a quantum battery with superposed trajectories
Project Operator National Cheng Kung University
Project Host 陳岳男
Summary
Quantum batteries are devices that utilize quantum effects. Here, we utilize quantum information technology known as superposition of trajectories to charge the quantum battery. This results in the quantum battery being charged by multiple chargers at the same time, causing a "quick charging" effect that gives us more usable energy over time. We implemented this with IonQ's quantum computer.

Industrial Applicability
Semiconductor, AI, green energy are energy reliant technology. As these develp further, the efficiency of batteries becomes more important. Eventually, lithium batteries would hit a limit at the quantum level. Thus, the development of quantum batteries becomes a necessity. Our technology would pave the way for a smooth transition from efficient lithium batteries to efficient quantum batteries.
