Technical Name Ultra-Stable Multi-Environmental Nanocoating for Rapid Detection of Public Threats
Project Operator Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU)
Project Host Hana Lísalová
A biofunctional polymer brush based on terpolymer architecture, that is evidenced to retain its antifouling properties even after functionalization with biorecognition elements. Some key characteristics of terpolymer brush nanocoating are ultra-stable and multi-environmental use, ease of preparation and possible repeated use. Ultra-stable nanocoatings possess a distinctive structure characterized by a highly dense polymer brush architecture which allows for easy grafting from various materials.
Scientific Breakthrough
The nanocoating can be implemented to various sensor devices and detection systems and is compatible with diverse environments. It is capable of detecting target molecular analytes without the need for sample pre-treatment or transportation to laboratories, holding great potential in meeting the requirements of many fields with its rapid and sensitive detection capabilities for a wide range of analytes. This method is suitable for cost-effective, large-scale production.
