Technical Description For industrialized countries such as Taiwan, there is a concern issue about air pollution because organic solvents are used in production processes. It is causing a serious health problem. Thus, real-time measurement of pollutants is needed. ITRI has published a technique using a OP-FTIR spectrometer. The instrument cost makes it less convenient for field applications. We presents a technique of A rapid gas analyzer for air pollution and locating sources of pollution emissions system. The chemical species can be continuously analyzed by the gas analyzer. AI software is embedded in the instrument which can run automatically. Also, we present a system that uses dual gas analyzer to establish the analytical networks. Combination with local weather data, the pollution rose plots and probability distribution are calculated by triangulation method that can locate the possible emission sources. The technique can provide a great contribution for people exposure to pollution and health risks.
Scientific Breakthrough We present an instrumentation of gas analyzer. The breakthrough of the technology in the instrument is build-in a high flow-rate preconcentrator that provides a high amplification factor (>1000) and lower the detection limit and lower cost for chemical analysis compared with other current instrument. In addition, the AI software is embedded in the gas analyzer which can obtain the real-time data through the internet. Also, a new approach employing two gas analyzers to locate the sources of pollution emissions. It can combine with the wind direction data to establish the pollution rose plots, and then we use the triangulation method with the two pollution plots to calculate the probability of pollution on the map. This result can indicate the direction-probability of pollutants.
