Technical Description The energy saving and reducing carbon dioxide emissions are the most important issue in Taiwan because of the issue of air pollution and PM2.5 in the recent years. The project is expected to the following impacts, i.e., strengthen Taiwan’s technology, research and development pertaining to energy, leading people on the importance of green energy and finally reinforcing solar EV’s international competitiveness.
We focus on the exterior design on the convertible tops of the solar car, it will not only need to have exterior visual integration but also need to make sure the new car has the lowest drag resistance with uniform temperature distribution under the vehicle moving condition by using Computational Fluid Dynamics and wind tunnel experiment, making it a key milestone in market feasibility of the solar EV with green energy, security, intelligent and the cloud system.
Scientific Breakthrough Using CAD to simulate and calculate the area that the solar panel cover on the top of the car and find the size and proportion which fits the car’s appearance the best. Develop the \"commercialized urban solar car\" technology with green energy, safety, wisdom, and marketability, which can be used in urban areas, commuting to work, airport official vehicles, and public transportation vehicles, with low cost and high acceptance of its appearance. In the future, it will replace the fuel engine market and compete the electric vehicles with the highest endurance.
Industrial Applicability The team achieves Taiwan’s mission, i.e., green energy, security, wisdom and the cloud of solar EV. The expected outcomes from this project are the development of light-weight solar powered-EV with high efficiency in battery technology, power management system and intelligence communication system. The team is expected to the following impacts, i.e., strengthen Taiwan’s technology, research and development pertaining to energy, leading people on the importance of green energy and finally reinforcing solar EV’s international competitiveness.
