Summary
  Energy-saving glass is realized using nano-imprinting to fabricate a periodic nano-structures. The glass can suppress the transmission of ultraviolet light such that people are not harmed. The transmission of infrared is largely reduced to lower air-conditioning. On the other hand, transmission is not deteriorated in the visible range to prevent the increment of illumination cost.
Scientific Breakthrough
   本技術利用奈米壓印在玻璃上製作一層六角最密堆積的週期奈米金屬結構,形成新型節能玻璃。此新型節能玻璃能夠有效減少紫外光及紅外光的穿透率,僅讓可見光穿透,達到節省住宅與辦公大樓燈光及空調用電之目的。而成品、設計與製造方法還具有下列等優點:
1.能夠與市面上現有多層模型式之節能玻璃做互補搭配,增強節能效果。
2.單位面積玻璃重量比商用產品輕盈。
3.可調變的設計參數有四個,分別為:金屬材料、金屬厚度、形狀以及孔徑大小,設計自由度大,能夠單獨調整使熱輻射性質更臻理想。
4.奈米壓印技術能大面積且快速地生產產品。
Industrial Applicability
  Energy-saving glass in this invention primarily applies to general buildings or green buildings. The design and fabrication methods proposed in the invention are able to develop display case glasses, light filters, energy converters, and a display screen of mobile phones or computers.
