Summary
The present invention relates to use of Sargassum polysaccharide for manufacturing a composition for treating or preventing enterovirus 71 infection. The composition of the present invention may increase the inhibition rate of enterovirus type 71 infection and can be used as a pharmaceutical composition, a food additive or an additive to cleaning and sanitation products.
Scientific Breakthrough
The invention found that at the viral adsorption stage, Sargassum polysaccharides can effectively improve cell survival, significantly inhibit the production of viral spots and reduce the phenomenon of cell lesions caused by viral infection. The invention confirms that increase the sulfate content of Sargassum polysaccharides, which can further improve its effect of suppressing the virus.
Industrial Applicability
Algae has become an integral part of daily life and industrial applications of the material, the importance of human beings, cannot be ignored. Therefore, this technology will be the effective, non-toxic, non-polluting algae polysaccharides extraction and production, in addition to the traditional used in the food processing industry, combining product development technology to develop high value-added products and more diversified.
