Technical Name Personalized Precision Medicine for Headache – Measurement of Cortical Excitatory and Inhibitory Capacities
Project Operator National Yang-Ming University
Project Host 陳韋達
Summary
With the measurement of cortical excitatory and inhibitory capacities along with the intelligent analysis calculation, this system can assist clinicians to diagnose the headache type and severity for individual patients. Moreover, achieve the ultimate goal of personalized precision medicine by prediction of the treatment outcomes.
Scientific Breakthrough
Only 40% of headache patients are properly diagnosed and treated according to WHO. After years of clinical trials, personalized diagnosis is still deficient. Our system is the first to measure brain function and assist the diagnosis of headache type, severity and prediction of treatment outcomes. The system assists the headache diagnosis/prognosis and reduces disease deterioration and economic loss.
Industrial Applicability
Headache is known for high prevalence (>30%), disability rate (2nd worldwide) and socioeconomic loss (> $100 billion/year). The database, cortical function measurement, and AI model established in this system provide niche for the development of precision medicine. With further combination with the AI-oriented medical industry, the next generation of medical industry revolution can be achieved.
