Technical Description The presented invention provides a method for evaluating the quality of joint mobility, which is applied to at least two inertial sensors and a processor. Each inertial sensor is disposed on each limb so as to sense mobility of a joint under test between these limbs and generate a multiple axis inertial sensing data. The processor uses the multiple axis inertial sensing data and a reference data relating the joint under test to compute a bending angle of the joint, so that an evaluating data can be calculated to determine the quality of the mobility of the joint under test. The invention adopts a modular design, and can be assembled into precision gloves such as data gloves for measuring and evaluating hand functions, and can also be worn on large joints of the whole body for measuring and evaluating gait and balance.
Scientific Breakthrough In the past, only Xsense in the Netherlands could measure the movement of human large joints wirelessly, and a few data gloves could measure the movement of fingers wirelessly. The invention integrates the two, can measure joints from small to large simultaneously, and cooperates with joint motion quality estimation algorithm to further evaluate the motion quality of small and large joints. The above two key technologies are not available in the past.
Industrial Applicability The invention adopts a modular design, and can be assembled into precision gloves such as data gloves for measuring and evaluating hand functions, and can also be worn on large joints of the whole body for measuring and evaluating gait and balance. The invention can be widely used in medical treatment, entertainment, human body motion sensing, and object motion sensing.
