Summary
The present sperm sorting chip utilities the upstream swim characteristic of sperms in appropriate fluid velocity to achieve up to 80% high motility sperm yield for infertile males in just 40 minutes
Scientific Breakthrough
1.3D漸擴式流道:透過特殊設計的漸擴流道,使流體流入流道時,具有適當的流速使高活動力之精子能在流道中逆流,低活動力精子或死亡精子因無法抵抗流體流速,而被帶至廢液槽。且因為為3D漸擴式流道可容納較多高活動力精子,以滿足不同不孕療程所要求的精子數量。
2.微米陣列孔洞薄膜:因部分男性不孕症患者的精液,較容易出現大型雜質,會堵注微小的流道,因此在入料口處設計微米陣列孔洞薄膜,可過濾大型雜質,使流道保持通順,不影響分選效果。
3.操作模式:晶片不需額外連接其他裝置,來推動液體產生適當的流速。晶片透過良好的設計,因入料處及出口處的液面差,使得流體在漸擴流道產生適當的流速。
4.透過不同操作收集精子:可適用大部分後續不孕症流程,可因應不同療程所需要精子數量多寡及活動力(IUI、IVF及ICSI)
Industrial Applicability
For infertile males with oligospermia or low sperm motility the present chip could yield high motile sperms and thus higher fertilization rate for subsequent different infertility treatment such as IUI, IVF and ICSI.
