Summary
An integrated solar photovoltaic-driven electrochemical water treatment technology have been developed with many advantages such as high energy independence, versatility and portability. The technology consists of photovoltaic system and electrocatalytic/electrosorption processes, regarded as an innovative, energy-efficient water treatment system to remove organic pollutants or charged ions.

Industrial Applicability
In response to the lack of access to water and the inadequate distribution grid, it is crucial to develop energy-independent water treatment systems for delivering clean water. An innovative, portable photovoltaic-driven electrocatalysis/electrosorption technology can be controlled by the water quality and quantity to meet the livelihood-oriented and industrial water demand in off-grid communities.
