Technical Name 2D Nanoparticle Arrays of Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) Detection Platform for Environmental-Biomedical Sensing
Project Operator Ming Chi University of Technology
Project Host 劉定宇
Summary
A portable and magnetic surface Raman-enhanced scattering (SERS) nanoparticle arrays platform would be developed for magnetic separation and SERS detection of environmental, water, and biomolecules samples. It is very simple, low cost, high stability, high sensitive and rapid platform with portable Raman spectroscopy to detect molecules without labelling the fluorescence dye, and the limit of detection (LOD) concentration is lower than 10-8 M.
Scientific Breakthrough
The newly developed SERS substrates were provided the enhancement of SERS intensity and detection sensitivity. The observed enhancement was explained by the existence of 3D hot junctions, particularly in the z-direction of nanosheets. In addition, magnetic iron-oxide nanoparticles on the 2D nanosheets that enabled the capture capture and concentrate of analytes could be potentially designed into a new medical device.
Industrial Applicability
SERS technique has been proved considerable attention and becomes a powerful analytical tool capable of identifying and detecting various analytes (chemistry, biomedical, environmental pollutants and microorganisms) because of the strong optical intensity localized between the surfaces of metallic nanostructure. Therefore, the SERS substrates for ultrasensitive, effective and rapid SERS detection of various analytes were demonstrated.
