Technical Name Simple method and platform to evaluate potential cardiotoxicity in vivo
Project Operator Chung Yuan Christian University
Project Host 蕭崇德
Summary
The specific aim of this invention is to develop a simple platform to evaluate drug cardiotoxicity in vivio. We used zebrafish embryos as model to exam the cardiac rhythmicity from video taping based on ImageJ tool. We also performed ion channel ligand library screen and discovered six coumpunds with strog cardiotoxicity. The ligand-target binding protein interaction was also investigated by molecular docking and found one calcium channel with high binding affinity.
Scientific Breakthrough
This invention can extract the heartbeat rhythm of artrium and ventricle directly from video taping. We can take this advantage to perform high content screen to find compounds with potential cardiotoxicity in living animals.
Industrial Applicability
This invention containing microscope to perform video taping and algorithm to extract cardiac rhythm. This combination has great commercial potential and expected to be very attractive to scientists in the biomedical research field.
