Technical Name On-site earthquake early warning system
Project Operator National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering
Project Host 林沛暘
Summary
An on-site EEWS using more than 200,000 seismic data in Taiwan in the past 30 years and AI technology. It can detect and predict the intensity of the following -coming earthquake. Combing the automatic disaster reduction control, it can provide suitable preparation for various intensity of earthquakes, reduce the seismic loss and accelerate the recovery. Whether it is a fab, a display glass plant, or a high-speed railway, you can use the on-site EEWS built in your own field for early warning and early response. Even if the area is close to the epicenter, which is generally considered as the blind zone, it still can provide the accurate early warning. In addition, through the configuration of multiple seismographs and trigger logic g, false alarms caused by vehicles, construction, machinery and human disturbances can be effectively avoided. The fully-enclosed system architecture does not need to external communication. It is the only choice for high-tech industry that value security.
Scientific Breakthrough
Detect the minor P-wave and predict PGA in 1~3s. The predict accuracy is up to 95%
It can provide 5~15s of warning time for the region with 30~100km epicenter distance.
No false alarm through the multiple backup sensor arrangement.
Reduce seismic loss by automatically disaster-reduction control (gas valve, door luck, train brake, excavation guild light, warning sound, elevator stop)
Industrial Applicability
Security industry: EEW warning, disaster reduction control, to reduce the seismic loss of the customers.
Smart home devices: EEW warning, disaster reduction control with the existing IOT devices.
Insurance: provide EEW, disaster prevention services to customers to reduce the seismic loss.
Telecommunications: provide EEW and extra disaster prevention services through the existing channel.
