Technical Name Patient derived xenograft-bankingexperimental service
Project Operator National Applied Research Laboratories, NARLabs
Project Host 陸璟萍
Summary
By collaborating with medical centers in Taiwan, the National Laboratory Animal Center (NLAC) has established a nationwide patient-derived xenograft (PDX) tissue bank. Based on the PDX tissue bank, we provide PDX tissue cryopreservation, recovery, transplantation, PDX animal production, drug test plus numerous tumor tracingassay services.
Scientific Breakthrough
The currently available international PDX banks have their collections mostly from patients of the western countries. Because human races, genetic variations, environmental influences can all affect cancer propertiestherapeutic strategies, it is essential to set up local collections. The NLAC has collaborated with multiple hospitalsmedical centers to obtain tumor tissues all over t
Industrial Applicability
The rising of biomedical developmentthe fast growing biotech companies creates high demand of research servicesresources. To study cancer using PDX, scientists have to either make connection with medical doctorsto purchase commercially available PDX that is relatively expensive. The PDX bank in NLAC is open for all scientists that will benefit biotech companiesscientists with l
