2026 -09 -19

The Future Tech Pavilion (FUTEX) at Taiwan Innotech Expo 2026 concluded on September 19 after attracting more than 50,000 visits over three days. The event facilitated 150 technology matchmaking meetings, featured 27 technology presentations and exchange sessions, and welcomed 63 delegations from industry associations, companies, schools, and professional organizations.

Under the theme “Turning Taiwan's Research into a Driving Force for Industrial Transformation", FUTEX 2026 was jointly organized by the National Science and Technology Council, Academia Sinica, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Sports.

The exhibition showcased advances in AI applications, semiconductors and chip computing, smart healthcare, net-zero energy and materials, space technology, and resilience. It also featured 84 winners of the 2026 Future Tech Award, selected from 667 entries.

150 Meetings Advance Technology Adoption and Collaboration

To improve industry–academia collaboration, FUTEX collected corporate R&D needs and technical challenges before the exhibition and matched companies with relevant research teams.

Participating companies included Pegatron, AUO, Acer, Fubon Financial Holdings, Delta Electronics, FocalTech, Primax Electronics, YASKAWA Electric, Techman Robot, San Lien Technology, and Topco Scientific. Their interests ranged from product development and process improvement to technology upgrades, new business opportunities, and cross-sector applications.

Discussions covered high-performance computing, chip cooling, advanced packaging, semiconductor inspection, AI hardware–software integration, early diagnosis, medical imaging, smart care, low-carbon materials, energy efficiency, resource circularity, and process decarbonization.

Companies explored not only the novelty of each technology but also its maturity, validation results, implementation requirements, collaboration models, and development timelines—moving conversations from understanding technologies toward adopting them.

84 Award-Winning Technologies Demonstrate Taiwan's R&D Strength

The 2026 Future Tech Award selected 84 winners from 667 submissions based on technological innovation, industrial applicability, and future potential.

At the award ceremony, NSTC Deputy Minister Chen-Kang Su emphasized that the award recognizes outstanding research while helping promising technologies gain industry visibility. By connecting awards, exhibitions, and matchmaking, FUTEX supports research teams in engaging potential corporate and investment partners and accelerating real-world adoption.

Making Advanced Research Accessible

FUTEX also transformed complex research into accessible, interactive experiences. Exhibits featuring AI-powered health analysis, smart sports search, generative AI virtual fitting, smart agriculture, satellite imagery, and disaster-prevention technologies attracted visitors of all ages.

A total of 63 guided delegations—including representatives from academia, industry, venture capital, and international organizations—gained a closer look at how emerging technologies can be applied in everyday life.

Although the three-day exhibition has concluded, collaboration will continue. Organizers will consolidate corporate needs and meeting records, use AI-powered recommendations to identify suitable research teams, and arrange follow-up discussions for promising cases. Technologies will also continue to be promoted through the official website, featured videos, and future industry events, extending connections made at FUTEX into opportunities for industrial and social impact.
